ACI Worldwide appoints Trent Gunthorpe as Head of Pacific

ACI Worldwide has appointed Trent Gunthorpe as the new General Manager, Head of Pacific. In his role, Gunthorpe will spearhead the company's growth in the Pacific region, which includes Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and 12 other Pacific island nations. His focus will be on helping banks and merchants achieve their business objectives while advancing their digital payments transformation efforts.

With over 20 years of experience in the payments sector, Gunthorpe brings a wealth of knowledge to ACI Worldwide. He has previously served as the Chief Product Officer at Australian Settlements Limited, where he played a critical role in the transformation of the company into an innovative payments-platform-as-a-service provider. Additionally, he held the position of Head of Payments at American Express across the Pacific region, contributing significantly to industry initiatives such as the shift to mobile payments. During his tenure, he partnered with leading technology firms including Apple, Samsung, and Google to facilitate their respective mobile payment launches in the region.

Gunthorpe has been actively involved in industry committees and working groups, providing commentary and analysis on various payment-related matters. Notably, he was instrumental in the expansion of open-loop public transport ticketing, advising and consulting with both government and industry stakeholders.
