BlackLine has welcomed renowned diversity and inclusion (D-I) spokeswoman Barbara Whye to its board of directors, charged with helping BlackLine improve its diversity efforts.
Whye, who is currently Apple's vice president of diversity and inclusion, brings more than 25 years of technology experience to her position on the BlackLine board.
The company aims to evaluate, improve, and expand its efforts across environmental, social and governance (ESG), including the company's diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Whye has also worked at Intel as chief diversity and inclusion officer, where she lead a US$300 million ‘diversity in technology' initiative. She was also responsible for Intel's investments in programs that deliver positive global impact, including corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education portfolios, with an emphasis on girls and underserved populations.

Whye initially began her career in electrical engineering, and she has worked across multiple positions in leadership and product engineering roles.
She has also been named as one of Fortune's 2020 Most Powerful Women in Business. 2019 Black Enterprise ‘Most Powerful Women in Corporate Diversity' award.

Whye holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the University's Darla Moore School of Business.
