Cequence & Singularity Tech forge API security partnership
Cequence has announced a new partnership with Singularity Tech to enhance API security and compliance solutions in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The collaboration aims to provide organisations with a comprehensive solution to tackle challenges associated with API sprawl and regulatory compliance. This is particularly pertinent in highly regulated fields such as critical infrastructure, which saw a 50% increase in cybersecurity incidents in 2023 according to the Australian Signals Directorate.
"Cequence is laser-focused on empowering organisations with the most robust API security solutions, and this partnership with Singularity perfectly aligns with our mission," said Glen Maloney, ANZ Country Lead at Cequence. "This partnership is more critical than ever for the Australian market, where a defined critical infrastructure landscape and stricter compliance requirements necessitate a targeted approach."
The joint offering will leverage Singularity's expertise and Cequence's Unified API Protection (UAP) platform to help clients manage the lifecycle of their APIs. The lifecycle encompasses six key stages: discovery, inventory, compliance, detection, prevention, and testing.
The discovery stage involves continuous evaluation of an organisation's API attack surface, including the identification of unknown or shadow APIs that may have been implemented without appropriate security oversight. The inventory stage consolidates all discovered endpoints, providing a cohesive view of the organisation's APIs to security teams and analysts.
The compliance stage ensures that all APIs align with the organisation's security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Detection focuses on identifying real-time threats targeting APIs without the need for additional instrumentation, while prevention offers real-time inline measures to stop API attacks. Finally, the testing stage evaluates APIs for potential risks before they are introduced into production environments.
Cequence's UAP platform provides a comprehensive approach to API security, encompassing both external and internal APIs. The platform ensures compliance with security and governance standards and offers native real-time protection against API attacks.
"Our collaboration with Cequence fills a crucial void in the API security landscape," said Nick Blyth, Managing Director at Singularity Tech. "Often, security and delivery teams operate in silos. By combining Singularity's focus on technology implementation with Cequence's best-in-class API security solutions, we provide a unified approach that empowers clients to navigate the complexities of API security, cybersecurity, and compliance effectively."
The partnership aims to significantly bolster the cybersecurity measures of organisations operating in mandated compliance environments or sectors with sensitive data and infrastructure. This collaboration also highlights the increasing importance of comprehensive API management, especially in an era where digital transformation is accelerating across multiple industries.
