ClubManager has launched its software platform for independent clubs in New Zealand, bringing local support to a market where it is seeking to expand.
The platform is already used by more than 2,500 clubs and fitness businesses worldwide. In New Zealand, local operations will be led by Danny Frost, National Operations Manager for Club Manager New Zealand.
ClubManager sells software for club and fitness operators that combines membership management, billing, bookings, communications and reporting in one system. It is targeting independent clubs that want to tighten administration, manage member communications and add new retail and payment options.
Its offering includes an in-app, virtual or on-site shop; tools designed to improve retention through gamification; automated administration and communication functions; WhatsApp messaging for individuals or groups; and flexible payment options intended to reduce unpaid memberships.
The system also gives members access to a mobile app and allows operators to adapt branding. According to internal platform figures cited by the company, clubs that switch to ClubManager increase monthly income by an average of 66% within their first year, while clubs using The Shop record an average 23% increase in secondary spend.
Local push
Frost said his experience in fitness operations shaped his view of the market and the software needs of independent operators.
"Independent clubs need software that works with them. I've inherited systems that made simple jobs harder than they needed to be and cost more than they should. What stood out to me about ClubManager is how intuitive it is. The reporting is excellent, it's easy to tailor to your own brand, and it gives owners the information they need to make better decisions without adding complexity," said Danny Frost, National Operations Manager, Club Manager New Zealand.
The New Zealand launch forms part of the company's wider presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Glenn Coxon, Operations Director for ClubManager APAC, said the business sees an opening among owner-led clubs looking for clearer oversight of trading performance and day-to-day operations.
"Independent clubs are built by passionate owners who care about their members and their communities. They deserve software that helps them run more efficiently, understand their business more clearly, and create capacity for growth. With Danny leading the market locally, clubs will have the support of someone who understands the challenges they're facing because he's lived them himself," said Glenn Coxon, Operations Director, ClubManager APAC.
Club management software has become a more contested segment as gym and fitness operators look to combine front-desk administration, recurring billing, class bookings, digital member engagement and retail sales within fewer systems. Independent operators in particular have faced pressure to control costs while retaining members and finding new sources of income beyond subscriptions.
That has created demand for software that connects administrative tasks with member-facing services in one platform. In New Zealand, ClubManager's pitch centres on that consolidation, alongside local operational support through Frost's appointment.
The company positions better reporting and simpler day-to-day workflows as part of its appeal to owners who want a clearer picture of business performance without adding further systems.
