Fujitsu and Palantir expand partnership for societal and business transformation
Wed, 13th Dec 2023

Tokyo-based Fujitsu Limited and Palantir Technologies Japan are bolstering their strategic global partnership with an emphasis on addressing wide-ranging societal challenges and fueling business transformation.

The announcement confirms the inclusion of Palantir's AI and data integration capabilities into Fujitsu's Uvance portfolio, enabling unique solutions to complex business challenges and societal problems. This synergy will be initially available in the Japanese market within the fiscal year 2023 and will extend to cover North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions in fiscal 2024.

Since the inception of their strategic collaboration in June 2020, Fujitsu and Palantir have primarily concentrated on enabling digital transformation in the Japanese market. Fujitsu has subsequently functioned as Palantir Japan's exclusive Flagship Technology Partner domestically, assisting clients across various industries like manufacturing, financial services, public sectors and utilities to achieve digital transformation.

Fujitsu will now broaden this alliance beyond Japan to international markets, leveraging the know-how accrued from in-house implementations and customer case studies, and capitalising on the extensive customer base possessed by both Fujitsu and Palantir.

The expanded partnership will ensure that Palantir Foundry's capabilities, including the integration and administration of large-scale data across diverse systems, are embedded into the data infrastructure of Fujitsu Uvance. Another feature of Palantir's offering, Palantir AIP, will also be integrated, facilitating secure activation of AI on private client networks.

This fusion of technologies is to offer solutions and insights through cross-industry collaboration and enabling connections across fragmented processes and data within organisations, all aimed at tackling societal issues and enhancing business transformation.

Both Fujitsu and Palantir are merging their strengths, aiming for prompt delivery of new services to meet diverse customer needs. In an environment of rapid business changes, their combined effort will assist clients in transforming their businesses and constructing resilient supply chains globally. Initial areas of service delivery are ESG management and SCM, with plans to gradually expand the target areas.

Yoshinami Takahashi, SEVP of Global Business Solutions Business Group and Head of Uvance Business at Fujitsu Limited, expressed his confidence in the partnership.

He noted the vital role both Palantir's state-of-the-art data integration and Fujitsu's top-class computing and simulation technologies will play in promoting ESG management and bringing Fujitsu Uvance's vision to fruition.

Koichi Narasaki, Chief Executive Officer at Palantir Technologies Japan KK, shared his contentment about the evolution of the partnership, commenting on the increased significance of digital transformation through platforms like Palantir AIP and Palantir Foundry.

Kevin Kawasaki, Global Head of Business Development at Palantir Technologies Inc., added his pride in their joint efforts with Fujitsu, expressing enthusiasm about the continued partnership and the inclusion of AIP into their rapidly expanding regions, including the United States.

Fujitsu continues to demonstrate commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a set of universal goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 to be achieved globally by 2030 - with an aim to foster a better future "by building trust in society through innovation".
