Hyperlayer has raised USD $26 million in follow-on funding led by Flintlock Capital, valuing the banking technology company at USD $260 million.

The Series A2 round also included Mouro Capital, Susquehanna Private Equity Investments, and other existing and new investors. It brings Hyperlayer's total funding to nearly USD $66 million since October 2025.

Hyperlayer plans to use the money to expand its product, engineering, and implementation teams and support growth across the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The company was founded in 2023 by former Morgan Stanley colleagues Rob Rooney and Paul Rolles.

The business focuses on helping banks update services and products without replacing legacy core systems. The pitch targets lenders and other financial institutions that want to change customer-facing operations while keeping existing infrastructure in place.

As part of the deal, Joe Shamess, Co-Founder and General Partner at Flintlock Capital, has joined Hyperlayer's board.

In a further management change, Louise Chan has moved from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Commercial Officer, while Ben Helps has been appointed Chief Operating Officer after serving as Chief Strategy Officer.

Rooney said the investor support reflected the company's early commercial progress with large banking clients.

"We're fortunate to be backed by deep experts in fintech. They've watched us go from a standing start to mandates with global Tier 1 banks in three years. That's what's convinced them to back where the company goes next," said Rob Rooney, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hyperlayer.

Flintlock's decision to lead the round for a second time in 12 months signals continued backing from existing investors rather than a shift to a new investor group. The latest financing comes as Hyperlayer seeks to widen its footprint across several banking markets.

Hyperlayer operates in a financial technology segment focused on working around legacy banking systems rather than replacing them outright. Many banks have struggled with the cost, complexity, and operational risks involved in changing core platforms that handle compliance, resilience, and day-to-day processing.

That has created demand for software layers that sit on top of older infrastructure and allow lenders to launch new products or adjust processes more quickly. Hyperlayer argues this approach can shorten the modernisation timetable while limiting disruption to systems central to banking operations.

Shamess linked the investment to that market view and to customer demand the company has already seen.

"Hyperlayer's promise is clear. Banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions must modernise at fintech speed without ripping out the core systems that protect them. A year on, that thesis is proven with world-class customers and strong market pull. Leading this round, and joining the board, is us doubling down on where Rob and Paul take the business next," said Joe Shamess, Co-Founder and General Partner at Flintlock Capital.

Leadership moves

The executive changes put Chan in charge of commercial activity after serving on the board and as Chief Operating Officer. He takes on operational oversight after previously leading strategy.

Rooney said the appointments formalised responsibilities both executives had already been carrying as the company expanded.

"Both are exceptional colleagues and serious contributors to our success to date. Louise has been closing the deals that prove the model works. Ben has been building the operating discipline and strategy that let us deliver for clients and scale without breaking. These appointments recognise the roles they are already playing as Hyperlayer grows and gathers pace," Rooney said.

The funding round gives Hyperlayer additional capital as investors continue to look for fintech companies with established demand from large financial institutions. Hyperlayer said it already works with financial institutions globally.
