Lanas has agreed to acquire New Zealand health technology provider indici, expanding the Dublin-based group's footprint in the market.
Indici supplies cloud-based electronic health record and practice management software to healthcare organisations in New Zealand. Its products cover electronic health records, e-prescribing, telehealth, population health and patient engagement. More than 250 organisations use the platform, supporting more than two million digital health records.
The acquisition adds another New Zealand business to the Lanas portfolio, following earlier deals for HealthLink, Toniq and KonnectNET. Lanas builds and acquires healthcare technology products used across primary care, community care, pharmacy, specialist settings and connected healthcare systems.
Lanas is headquartered in Dublin and operates across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It is majority-owned by TA Associates.
Market expansion
The transaction gives Lanas a direct presence in general practice software in New Zealand, adding to its existing positions in other parts of the healthcare technology market. It also extends a period of consolidation in digital health software, as providers seek broader product ranges and larger customer bases across clinical and administrative functions.
For New Zealand's health technology sector, the deal signals continued overseas interest in established software providers with embedded customer relationships. Indici's scale in digital records and practice management makes it a notable asset in a market where healthcare providers rely on long-term software systems for patient administration and clinical workflows.
No financial terms were disclosed. The agreement was described as part of Lanas' planned investment in New Zealand's healthcare technology sector over the next two years.
DLA Piper advised Lanas on the transaction. The legal team was led by corporate partner Reuben Woods, with support from Nick Valentine in technology and data, and Steph McQuaid, Tayla McEntee and William Britton in corporate.
Ronan Lennon, chief legal officer at Lanas, commented on the transaction.
“This is an important transaction for Lanas and a significant step in our long-term commitment to New Zealand's healthcare technology sector. DLA Piper were a trusted partner throughout the process, and we're grateful to Reuben and the wider team for their support,” Lennon said.
Woods said the transaction also broadens Lanas' reach in primary care software through indici's position in general practice.
“Congratulations to Howard, Ronan, Rob, Conor and the Lanas team on bringing indici into the group. Alongside HealthLink, Toniq and KonnectNET, it extends Lanas' New Zealand presence into general practice, and we've thoroughly enjoyed supporting them on the deal. This transaction reflects the continued international interest in established New Zealand technology businesses, as well as the innovation and activity across our healthcare and healthtech sector,” said Reuben Woods, corporate partner at DLA Piper.
