Mobile Mentor secures NZ Govt with TaaS mobile security certification

20 Jan 2020

The New Zealand Government has granted Mobile Mentor Security Certification for its Mobile Device Security and Threat Management services in the government’s Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) panel.

The TaaS programme is the official government procurement panel for technology services. Mobile Mentor has been part of TaaS panel since 2015 and has spent the last four years working towards certification.

To get the certification, Mobile Mentor had to pass a rigorous and comprehensive testing process, with more than 650 security controls to ensure that Government devices and data are secured to a level of ‘In Confidence’.

Mobile Mentor is the first company to achieve certification of these critical services – and it is particularly timely, given the government’s focus on improving data security for agencies and the wider New Zealand public.

Mobile Mentor has just celebrated 15 years in business. The company says this certification is an important milestone in its mission to empower government workers to achieve more with mobile technology.

“We are proud to be certified to host and manage the world’s leading unified endpoint technology, VMware Workspace ONE with our device security infrastructure hosted and supported in a government-approved data centre in New Zealand,” says Mobile Mentor's CEO Daniel McCarthy.

"Cyber risk is a growing threat to our country and this certification is another step in Mobile Mentor's journey to keep government employees secure on their mobile devices."

In addition to working with government agencies, Mobile Mentor also provides services to healthcare providers and commercial businesses in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

Mobile Mentor has deep expertise in mobile security, and works with the three leading providers of endpoint management solutions: Microsoft, VMware, and MobileIron.

Earlier this year, Mobile Mentor was named MobileIron’s 2019 A/NZ Partner of the Year for innovative work across Australia and New Zealand.

Be assured by securing your devices with the safest global mobile technology solutions from New Zealand’s leading provider of enterprise mobility services, Mobile Mentor.
