OCS overhauls finance with full Esker AI automation rollout

OCS New Zealand has partnered with FUJIFILM Business Innovation New Zealand to overhaul its finance operations through adoption of artificial intelligence and automation tools.

OCS is now the first company in the world to implement Esker's full suite of eight AI-powered, cloud-based finance automation solutions in one rollout. This collaboration signals a significant advance in OCS's digital transformation within the New Zealand market.

The relationship between OCS and FUJIFILM Business Innovation New Zealand began in late 2023, focusing initially on automating the accounts payable process. Over a six-month period, the project's scope expanded to encompass the entire Esker suite. After a three-month training period, the accounts payable module was the first to go live in November 2024. Supplier contract management and expense management modules have since been launched, with the remaining five modules planned for completion by the end of 2025.

The Esker suite, now being introduced by OCS, covers a variety of finance functions. These include supplier and contract management, procurement, accounts payable, staff expenses, sales order processing, accounts receivable, and collections.

As a result of digitising and automating previously manual processes, such as creating customer sales orders and supplier purchase orders, OCS has been able to speed up payment cycles and improve accuracy across its finance operations.

Esker was recently included in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites and is ranked among the top four global automated payment solutions. FUJIFILM Business Innovation New Zealand has introduced the Esker solution to several local organisations, such as Gallagher, Ritchies Transport, Animates, Kāinga Ora, and Health New Zealand.

OCS New Zealand has over 4,000 staff members nationwide and provides facilities management services to private and public sector clients. The company's adoption of the Esker finance automation suite forms part of an ongoing strategy to improve business operations and outcomes across the country.
