Revolut launches Ultra premium plan in New Zealand

Thu, 23rd Apr 2026 (Today)

Revolut has launched its Ultra plan in New Zealand, a new top-tier offering aimed at customers seeking premium travel, rewards and subscription benefits.

Priced at NZD $79.99 a month, or NZD $799.90 a year, Ultra offers almost NZD $10,000 in annual value through a package of spending rewards, bundled subscriptions, travel services and lower fees on some investment products.

The launch expands Revolut's local line-up above its existing Plus, Premium and Metal tiers. It also comes as banks and loyalty schemes face growing scrutiny from consumers over the value of points programmes and the cost of overseas spending.

Under Ultra, customers earn one RevPoint for every NZD $1 spent in New Zealand and abroad. Points can be redeemed in the app for services such as Uber, DoorDash and Airbnb, or transferred to 12 airline loyalty programmes.

Revolut is also positioning Ultra as an alternative to premium credit cards. The plan includes a platinum-plated card, unlimited international transfers without added fees, and fee-free ATM withdrawals of up to NZD $3,500 a month.

Travel focus

Travel benefits are a major part of the package. Ultra includes unlimited access to more than 1,400 airport lounges worldwide and 5GB of global eSIM data each month across more than 100 countries.

The offer reflects a broader push by financial services groups to bundle travel perks with payment products to attract higher-spending customers. In New Zealand, where international travel is a routine part of business and leisure for many households, roaming charges, foreign exchange costs and airport services remain common pain points.

Subscriptions are another core part of the offer. Ultra includes 14 subscriptions with a combined retail value of more than NZD $5,300 a year, including MasterClass, NordVPN, ClassPass and Super Duolingo.

Alongside consumer spending and travel features, the plan also extends to investing. Ultra customers receive Revolut's lowest exchange fee of 0.49% on more than 225 crypto tokens, and the same rate on precious metals, including gold and silver, subject to a minimum commodities fee of NZD $1.99.

The inclusion of crypto and metals highlights how fintech groups are packaging payments, travel and investment tools into a single paid account. For providers, subscription plans offer recurring revenue and a way to deepen customer use of their apps beyond day-to-day transactions.

Revolut now has more than 70 million customers globally. The New Zealand launch adds another premium tier in a market where digital challengers are still trying to build scale alongside established banks.

Georgia Grange, Head of New Zealand at Revolut, said the product was designed for customers seeking more visible value from everyday spending and travel.

"Kiwis have a uniquely global mindset and they deserve real value that matches their ambitions and delivers tangible benefits on their everyday spending. With Ultra, we aren't just launching another card; we're delivering a complete lifestyle upgrade that provides guaranteed everyday value, especially at a time when consumers are looking for reliability from their rewards programs. By combining world-class travel perks with an elite subscription package, we are challenging the status quo and redefining the premium financial experience in New Zealand, without the need for a credit card. It's the perfect tool for Kiwis who want more from their money, their investments, and their everyday experiences - all housed within the convenience of the Revolut App," Grange said.
