Samsung unveils Galaxy Ring wearable for NZD $699 release

Samsung Electronics New Zealand has announced the upcoming release of the Galaxy Ring, a new wearable device arriving in the country on 2 April 2025.

The Galaxy Ring will be available for purchase from Samsung's website and selected retailers for NZD $699. This small wearable aims to provide continuous wellness monitoring in a design intended for everyday use.

The head of Mobile Product Management at Samsung New Zealand, Jason Hong, expressed enthusiasm for the product's release, stating, "Health and wellbeing are a priority for many Kiwis, and we're excited to introduce the Galaxy Ring as a new way to support their wellness journey. Designed for effortless everyday wear, the Galaxy Ring delivers powerful health insights in a discreet and comfortable form."

Hong elaborated on the features, noting, "With AI-powered features and seamless integration with Samsung Health, users can access personalised, data-driven insights to help them stay on top of their health with ease."

The Galaxy Ring is designed to deliver personalised health data through its integration with Samsung Health, offering insights such as advanced sleep analytics and an "Energy Score" to inform users about their physical status. The device also provides "Wellness Tips," which give motivational messages throughout the day. These functionalities are said to be tightly integrated into a cohesive platform within the Samsung Health application.

The device comes in a choice of three colour variants—Titanium Silver, Titanium Black, and Titanium Gold—and is available in eleven different sizes ranging from size five to fifteen. This range is based on US standard ring sizes.

The Galaxy Ring requires an Android smartphone with version 11.0 or above and at least 1.5GB memory. It necessitates the use of the Galaxy Wearable app, Samsung Health app (v6.27 or above), and a Samsung account login for full functionality.

The ring's size specifications are provided as 7.0 mm x 2.6T, with its weight varying between 2.3g to 3.0g depending on the size chosen. Each purchase includes a Sizing Kit, intended to help users choose the correct size for their needs. The Sizing Kit includes sample rings that are non-functional and are used solely for measuring purposes.
