ServiceNow acquires 4Industry & EY's app to boost smart industrial workflow
Wed, 20th Mar 2024

ServiceNow, a specialist in digital workflow, has announced the acquisition of 4Industry and EY's Smart Daily Management application, in a move aimed at transforming smart industrial environments and empowering connected workers.

The Netherlands-based 4Industry, established in 2018, offers a mobile-enabled application designed to make shop floor work more efficient, intuitive, and enjoyable through a suite of digital tools. On the other hand, EY's Smart Daily Management application aims to streamline time-consuming tasks, enabling ServiceNow's industrial clientele to drive operational excellence.

By integrating these technologies, ServiceNow aims to enhance its operational technology capabilities, offering wide-ranging solutions for digital transformation across manufacturing, energy, and transport & logistics sectors. These acquisitions mark a strategic move towards heightening efficiency, promoting operational excellence and providing seamless experiences for workers.

Lou Fiorello, VP & GM Security and OT at ServiceNow, explained the importance of such acquisitions in today's industrial sectors. "Industries like manufacturing, energy, and transport & logistics are embracing digital transformation to achieve operational excellence and provide great experiences for Connected Workers," he commented. "These deals allow us to combine best-in-class expertise and technology with the power of the Now Platform to help our industrial customers increase uptime, drive efficiency, and improve quality."

Promising further investment in European tech and talent, the acquisitions aim to significantly enhance ServiceNow's long-term roadmap for its global customers, delivering continuity across IT, OT, and factory floor workers. ServiceNow plans to maintain a strong alliance with EY and also partner with Plat4mation, an affiliated services company of 4Industry, to jointly innovate and implement existing OT solutions and future Connected Worker solutions.

Luc Raeskin, CEO of 4Industry, expressed enthusiasm about the deal and its alignment with ServiceNow's core philosophy. "4Industry is strongly aligned with ServiceNow’s core philosophy that digitisation and automation are the keys to making employees happier and more productive. We can’t wait to get started and fulfil our mission of enabling the Connected Worker to become extraordinary by enabling them to focus on what truly matters in their work," Raeskin said.

4Industry and Smart Daily Management from EY join the likes of UltimateSuite, G2K, Atrinets NetACE technology and Element AI in ServiceNow's portfolio. These acquisitions art part of ServiceNow's ongoing commitment to bringing impactful automation to customers. While the company has already completed the acquisition of Smart Daily Management, it expects to finalise the purchase of 4Industry in the coming weeks.
