Bridgewise secures $21M funding led by SIX Group & Group 11

Tue, 23rd Apr 2024

Bridgewise, the AI-based analysis platform offering detailed insights into global securities, has recently concluded a successful $21 million funding round, raising the company's total capital to $35 million. SIX Group, the operating group of financial centres in Switzerland and Spain, led the funding effort. The round also included significant contributions from the fintech-specialist VC firm, Group 11, and the VC arm of B3, L4 Venture Builder.

Bridgewise is built on the objective of addressing the stock market's critical issue; information distribution is exceptionally concentrated, leaving investors without access to promising yet hidden investment options. It's calculated that traditional financial institutions only cover 20% of global securities. Through its AI-powered platform, Bridgewise acts as a link, bridging this knowledge gap by providing comprehensive and easy-to-understand equity research. This kind of knowledge was formerly exclusive to significant financial institutions. Consequently, Bridgewise has been instrumental in levelling the playing field.

The newly-acquired funding will accelerate the expansion of Bridgewise's global presence and further development of its proprietary AI technology. The company provides AI-driven investment analyses to a wide array of clients, including exchanges, banks, trading platforms, investment houses, wealth advisors, and financial media & education platforms. It currently has operations in 15 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, UAE, UK, US, and more.

According to Gaby Diamant, Co-founder and CEO of Bridgewise, "This is a major milestone on our mission to close the knowledge and accessibility gap across the global capital markets. Our AI technology is uniquely positioned to provide the trustworthy analysis, recommendations, and support global investors need to make informed decisions. This new funding is an opportunity to deliver on our promise to our customers, and our responsibility to the industry as a whole."

Offering a suite of products tailored to meet the needs of influential financial institutions and service providers, Bridgewise undoubtedly plays a crucial role in the sector. Its services include detailed AI-generated reports, on-demand analysis of any financial instrument or security, a natural-language AI conversational chat – Bridget, and a robo advisor providing personalised recommendations based on users existing portfolios, amongst other features.

Bridgewise's innovative platform fundamentally rests on two pillars. The first pillar consists of a machine learning algorithm trained on over 20 years of historical data, analysing more than 50,000 listed securities and allotting each one with a performance score. The second pillar is made up by a generative AI based on a proprietary Micro Language Model that produces easy-to-understand reports for each security in the reader's preferred language.

Witnessing Bridgewise's propulsion into its next step, Dovi Frances, Founding Partner at Group 11, noted, "The team has a clear vision and are leading the way for AI in capital markets. I look forward to seeing what 2024 has in store." Additionally, Björn Sibbern, Global Head of Exchanges at SIX, acknowledged Bridgewise's commitment to innovation and the future of finance, noting that their strategic move taps into a high-growth market and boosts their internal expertise, while empowering their customers across various geographies.
