iManage enhances AI with Ask iManage & Insight+ updates

Fri, 28th Mar 2025

iManage has announced further developments to its AI strategy with enhancements aimed at better preparing customers to use AI technologies with their proprietary data. These updates include new releases of Ask iManage, an AI-powered assistant, and Insight+, a knowledge search and management solution.

The company's advanced AI strategy facilitates the utilisation of data to improve search capabilities and unlock institutional knowledge for more efficient and secure work practices. By incorporating AI across its platform, iManage aims to alleviate repetitive tasks such as email filing and the creation of signature packets, enabling users to focus on high-value activities.

Ask iManage, launched in 2024, is designed to improve professionals' interactions with documents, emails, and content. The latest update introduces a guided actions interface, allowing users to leverage generative AI capabilities without needing expertise in crafting prompts. Available guided actions include overview, extract, summarise, and analyse functions that can process multiple documents simultaneously to aid in tasks like due diligence and compliance reviews.

A question library has been introduced to allow users to browse, customise, and reuse prompts for individual or team purposes. Dynamic question suggestions provide context-aware examples tailored to specific documents. Ask iManage now offers enhanced flexibility in formatting answers and exporting them to formats such as Word or Excel.

In support of user adoption, iManage has developed the Wayfinder programme, which serves as a consultative engagement initiative to help customers achieve their desired outcomes. Participation in Wayfinder is reportedly increasing among iManage's customer base.

Insight+ represents the next step in iManage's approach to knowledge search. Built on trusted grounding data, it combines semantic and generative search capabilities with a hybrid search index prioritising security policies. Insight+ allows users to search with natural language queries, providing links to the underlying source content.

According to the company, Insight+ now boasts over 25,000 active users globally across various sectors, including law firms, tax and accounting practices, and corporate legal departments. This growth is attributed to incremental feature enhancements realised over the past year.

Shawn Misquitta, Executive Vice President of Product Management at iManage, commented on the company's dedication to achieving better outcomes through AI. "AI is never about 'AI for AI sake'—it's about getting to better outcomes," he said. "Our continued investments in the platform - iManage Insight+ and Ask iManage - play a crucial role in helping customers realise value, while leveraging AI in a secure and responsible way. The market response and adoption globally validate our approach. We are committed to helping customers achieve pragmatic, pervasive, and responsible use of AI technologies, and we're excited about the tremendous interest from our legal and corporate legal customers."
