Jane Livesey starts as Microsoft ANZ President to drive AI growth
Microsoft announced the appointment of Jane Livesey as President for ANZ in August. Marking her return to the technology sector after senior regional roles in consulting and services. According to a LinkedIn post, she started in the new role last week. With her focus being on engagement with customers and partners across both markets.
Leadership role
Livesey takes responsibility for Microsoft's operations across Australia and New Zealand. She highlighted the company's long-standing presence in both countries and the importance of maintaining trusted relationships with enterprise, public sector and partner organisations.
"This week begins an exciting new chapter for me, leading Microsoft across Australia and New Zealand as President. I've been inspired in my first few days by the team's deep commitment to our mission of empowering every person and every organisation to achieve more – including how we collaborate with our customers and partners across the region," said Jane Livesey, President, Microsoft Australia and New Zealand.
AI focus
She said the business is operating at a pivotal moment for the technology sector. Her comments reflect Microsoft's broader strategy to expand its AI capabilities and embed tools into core business workflows.
"We're at a generational inflection point. AI is reshaping how we build, run, and grow businesses, and it's accelerating innovation at a pace and scale we've rarely seen. As a longtime customer and partner of Microsoft, I've seen firsthand how we help customers become frontier firms to lead in the new AI economy. I'm energised by Microsoft's unique role in this transformation: putting AI into the workflow of human ambition so ideas can move faster and impact can be broader," said Livesey.
Regional investment
Livesey noted the scale of Microsoft's long-term commitment to the region. She said its success relies on maintaining customer trust and continuing to support organisations through ongoing technology change. Her comments come as organisations across Australia and New Zealand weigh investment in cloud infrastructure, generative AI applications and cybersecurity resilience.
"Microsoft's deep investment in Australia and New Zealand spans more than four decades. Our continued success rests on the trust we earn every day with customers and partners – this is something we do not take for granted. I'm confident our team, grounded in a growth mindset and customer obsession, is ready to support our customers through this period of immense transformation. I can't wait to see what we'll achieve together!" said Livesey.
