FYI, this story is more than a year old

Business management platform MYOB has unveiled the winners of its Partner Awards for 2022.

The New Zealand winners of the MYOB Partner Awards 2022 are Lynley Averis from AccountAgility for Certified Consultant of the Year, Singh & Associates Ltd for Accounting Practice of the Year and 3rd Arm Admin Ltd for Bookkeeping Practice of the Year.

MYOB says 2022 marks the 14th year of the awards, recognising the accountants, bookkeepers and consultants who go above and beyond to ensure local small and medium businesses succeed.

The awards run across Australia and New Zealand and span five categories; Accounting Practice of the Year, Bookkeeping Practice of the Year, Certified Consultant of the Year, as well as the debut awards Educator of the Year and Education Partner of the Year with the two new awards recognising the educators and institutions that are inspiring the next generation of professionals.

The Partner Awards were judged by a panel of MYOB executives, including Chief Sales and Support Officer – Daniel West, who says the awards are an opportunity to reflect on the important role accountants and bookkeepers play in supporting businesses to achieve their ambitions.

“We’re emerging from two incredibly challenging years and our partners have been there every step of the way, creating a path of opportunity for the businesses they serve," West says.

"Partners are a vital asset in our business community and our awards platform is designed to help celebrate and recognise all their efforts – putting leaders among our partner community in the spotlight."

“This year was all about celebrating those who have helped their customers to thrive and shine together, and our winners have really embodied that notion across the last 12 months.”

For the second year running, Accounting Practice of the Year New Zealand was awarded to Waikato-based firm Singh & Associates Ltd, who judges said embodied this year’s theme of ‘thrive and shine’ and are investing in their growing team. The practice is actively involved in the community and participates in the ‘Mana in Mahi’ programme supported by the Ministry of Social Development, focused on providing long-term employment for people starting a new career.

3rd Arm Admin Ltd was named New Zealand Bookkeeping Practice of the Year for the fifth consecutive year. The team based in Wellington were announced the winners in recognition of their strong business growth, unwavering focus on training and development, and their ability to streamline processes and simplify business management for clients.

Winners of Educator of the Year and Education Partner of the Year are combined across Australia and New Zealand in 2022, with Julia Yonghua Wu, University of Canterbury and Nikki Schonfeldt, University of Western Australia joint winners of the Educator of the Year award and Learner Link awarded Education Partner of the Year.

Lynley Averis from AccountAgility won Certified Consultant of the Year, for her commitment to the industry, emphasis on building quality long-term relationships with clients, and expertise in MYOB consulting.

Averis says she was delighted for her efforts to be recognised. “I was thrilled to win the Certified Consultant category. It's a real vote of confidence in the work I do and in the service I provide to my customers.

“The award recognises the importance of providing quality expert advice and valuable support, and I'm proud to be able to offer that to my customers," she says.

"I'm really passionate about helping businesses grow and succeed, and love to find ways where digital solutions can remove the hassle of mundane day-to-day tasks so they can focus on the bigger picture. I'll always work hard to provide the best possible service to my customers, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them and the MYOB team for their support.”
