New Relic unveils support for RISE With SAP for enhanced observability

Thu, 12th Sep 2024

New Relic has announced its support for RISE With SAP, aiming to assist enterprises in accelerating and future-proofing their cloud transformation efforts. New Relic Monitoring for SAP Solutions, in close partnership with SAP, offers a unified monitoring solution across the entire SAP landscape. This observability platform integrates agentless SAP functionalities, providing one-step observability and out-of-the-box functionality.

Through this integration, New Relic aims to help customers build an end-to-end observability practice, reducing business process interruptions, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer experience. According to New Relic, ninety-nine of the world's 100 largest companies use SAP to achieve agility at scale and accelerate value across critical processes. Therefore, disruptions in SAP or related systems could impact product delivery and revenue, making unified observability essential.

Principal Analyst Carlos Casanova from Forrester Research commented on the importance of comprehensive IT solutions: "Complex IT architectures require technological solutions that assess an entire IT landscape to provide real-time context-aware insights that span providers, technologies, and locations."

New Relic aims to offer this comprehensive visibility across SAP and non-SAP applications, allowing IT teams to detect and resolve issues before business impact occurs. The platform delivers a single pane of glass view that includes deep insights, real-time visibility, powerful visualizations, and ease of configuration.

The New Relic platform is designed to support various SAP environments, which often consist of systems based on ABAP, HANA, BTP, JAVA, and SaaS-based technologies, alongside hybrid cloud and on-premise deployments. This breadth of support provides unified monitoring across applications, infrastructure, end-user experiences, and business process flows.

As part of the cloud migration process, enterprises leveraging New Relic can achieve observability across both on-premise and RISE With SAP deployments. This capability enables companies to conduct A/B testing and performance comparisons, providing a holistic view across their environments. The integrated observability extends into infrastructure layers, assisting in root cause analysis and ultimately reducing business process interruptions.

New Relic's approach addresses SAP customers' concerns about system impact and setup time by offering an agentless SAP integration for one-step observability. The SAP ABAP Certified agentless connector enhances telemetry data for immediate visualization use. This unified approach is designed to deliver turnkey dashboards, anomaly detection, traces, and alerts for both SAP and non-SAP systems, ensuring faster detection and resolution of issues.

Peter Marelas, New Relic's Field Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan, emphasised the importance of this integration: "SAP powers some of the world's most iconic companies in the Asia Pacific region. From supply chain management, financial operations, and customer experience, these industry leaders rely on SAP for core business processing, and any disruption can have immediate and far-reaching impacts."

Marelas added, "That is why we have introduced New Relic Monitoring for SAP Solutions. This equips every SAP customer with advanced, intelligent observability, ensuring smooth operations and deep insights for continuous improvement. We are empowering enterprises to become more agile and scalable, while delivering sustainable growth and great digital experiences."

The New Relic Monitoring for SAP Solutions is now available as part of the company's all-in-one observability platform. Interested enterprises are encouraged to contact their New Relic account representatives for further information and to schedule a demonstration.
