Emburse debuts AI for efficient expense management

Today

Emburse has recently launched Emburse AI, a large language model specifically designed for enhancing expense and spend management processes in organisations.

Recently announced by Emburse, the AI is specifically purpose-built to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting and financial tasks. This development leverages a large dataset from over one billion spend transactions to perform autonomously in expense and invoice management.

The introduction of Emburse AI aims to tackle common challenges encountered in expense and invoice management. These challenges include reducing the time spent on manual tasks and improving the accuracy of submissions. This tool supports finance teams and business travellers by minimising effort and streamlining procedures.

"Finance teams handle hundreds of detailed processes every day, where even one seemingly-minor error can lead to significant financial and operational consequences," said Paul Nagy, Chief Product Officer at Emburse. "With Emburse AI, we're giving users a powerful tool to minimize manual effort, improve accuracy, and dramatically reduce time spent on managing expenses and invoices. This latest milestone for Emburse sets the stage for future AI enhancements, including agentic AI, to help finance teams operate more efficiently and strategically."

One of the core features of Emburse AI is its capacity to autonomously read, interpret, and act on transaction data with high accuracy, moving beyond mere text extraction. It employs machine learning to comprehend context, predict missing or unclear information, and adapt to various formats, which assists in preventing common errors during data entry.

Emburse AI also enhances data insights by mapping expenses into a broad range of categories for Emburse Expense Enterprise users. This categorisation allows for improved expense allocation and offers richer insights, thereby enabling faster, data-driven decision-making.

An improved employee experience is another benefit of this AI, as it automatically fills in and interprets data for users, creating a mostly touchless experience that eliminates the need for tedious manual data entry. By automating these routine tasks, employees can dedicate more time to valuable activities, leading to increased job satisfaction and productivity.

Localization capabilities are another standout feature of Emburse's AI. It efficiently recognises applicable currencies, date formats, tax rates, and even common regional merchants, thus supporting finance teams worldwide across different languages and regions.

Additionally, Emburse AI aids in the precise separation of tip amounts in meal expenses, saving employees time when lodging expense claims, and ensuring accuracy in submissions.

Security is also a fundamental aspect of Emburse AI, built with enterprise-grade standards to maintain high levels of data protection and privacy. Emburse assures users that all AI data is encrypted during transit and at rest, processed on secure, localised servers, ensuring compliance and safeguarding customer information.

The rollout of Emburse AI globally addresses two major pain points in expense management solutions, focusing on reducing manual data shift and mitigating errors in submissions, while future updates promise additional predictive insights driven by AI.
